Abundant

Abundant means there’s plenty for everyone. Abundant means there’s a lot.

Frank had a pet pizza. Everywhere Frank went, he took his pet pizza with him. Sometimes Frank took his pet pizza to the zoo. Sometimes he took his pet pizza to the ice cream shop. But most of the time Frank just took his pet pizza to school. The teacher with the pointy nose did not like this one bit.

“Frank, people have pet dogs or cats! People don’t have pet pizzas,” the teacher with the pointy nose told him. “And anyway,” she sniffed, “you didn’t bring enough pizza to share with the whole class.”

Frank didn’t mind that she didn’t think a pizza could be a pet—he got that a lot. But he was worried when she said there wasn’t enough of his pet pizza to share with his class. “I never wanted to leave any of my friends out,” Frank thought to himself.

On his way home from school, Frank took a good look at his pet pizza. His pet pizza was abundant in cheese. His pet pizza was abundant in pepperoni. “Don’t worry,” Frank told his pet pizza. “I think you are the most abundant pet pizza I know.”

The next day the teacher with the pointy nose once again told Frank, “People don’t have pet pizzas! And anyway, you didn’t bring enough pizza to share with the whole class.”

“But my pet pizza is enough for the whole class,” Frank told the teacher with the pointy nose. “My pet pizza is abundant enough to share with the whole school! There’s plenty of my pet pizza to go around!”

The teacher with the pointy nose raised her eyebrows and said, “I would like to see how abundant that pet pizza is.” The teacher with the pointy nose thought to herself, “If the whole school eats Frank’s pet pizza, I’ll never have to see that smelly pet pizza again.”

Later that day, Frank took his pet pizza out to the playground. “Excuse me!” he called out. “I’d like to share my pet pizza. I’d like to share it with all of you.”

The whole school gathered around Frank and his pet pizza. The teacher with the pointy nose got a funny smile and asked Frank, “Are you sure there’s enough of your pet pizza for everyone?” This worried Frank. Maybe his pet pizza wasn’t quite abundant enough to share with the whole school. How could he share his pet pizza with so many kids?

One girl asked Frank, “Can I be first? I’ve always wanted to slide down the slide with a pet pizza.” Another kid said, “Wouldn’t it be so awesome to push a pet pizza on the swings?! Can I be next?” Before Frank knew it, the whole school was lined up for a turn with his pet pizza.
